Nike Unveils 2014 U.S. Soccer Kit
After celebrating 100 years of U.S. soccer with a kit inspired by the national team’s first-ever
After celebrating 100 years of U.S. soccer with a kit inspired by the national team’s first-ever match, the Americans are set to don a brand new Nike ensemble for 2014. Designed to be “the ultimate expression of American style and patriotism,” the predominately white kits sport subtle grey horizontal stripes as a nod to the USA’s past jerseys while the polo collar comes trimmed in red. Inside, the unis feature a blue pennant tab highlighted by the original 13 stars of the American Flag while a modern, specially-designed angular font takes care of both the names and numbers on the back of the uniform. Like past Nike soccer uniforms, the kits offer the ultimate in comfort and cooling thanks to Dri-FIT technology, “burnout” mesh, laser-cut ventilation holes, and an environmentally-sustainable build using polyester (100% recycled polyester in the shorts, 96% in the shirt, and 78% in the socks) from recycled plastic bottles. The latest U.S. soccer kit is available now at Nike retailers and Nike.com.
