Swedish hypercar manufacturer Koenigsegg adds to its stable of high-powered behemoths with what’s being billed as the world’s very first “megacar”: the One:1. Set to unseat the Hennessey Venom GT as the world’s fastest production car, the One:1 weighs 1,341 kg (2,956 lbs) and comes powered by a newly developed 5-liter V8 capable of 1,011 lb-ft of torque and a whopping 1 megawatt – or 1,341 horsepower – of power, thus achieving the ever-elusive 1:1 power-to-weight ratio. Delivered to the One:1’s wheels via a dual-clutch seven-speed gearbox and electronic differential, the One:1’s insane amount of power means it can accelerate from 0 to 248.5 mph in just 20 seconds. All that speed and power, however, is safely harnessed thanks to the Agera R’s 397mm braking system – one which couples 397mm front power-assisted ventilated ceramic discs with six-piston calipers and 380mm ventilated ceramics with four-piston calipers in back – thus allowing the car to come to a full stop from 248.5 mph in just 10 seconds and from a speed of 62 mph over just 28 meters. Finally, the brand new aluminum 5-liter V8 is compatible not only with regular gasoline, but also with environmentally-friendly E85 biofuel and uber-efficient race fuel. Unfortunately, all six One:1 production models have already been spoken for, but Koenigsegg will indeed showcase the vehicle at next month’s Geneva Auto Show.
