Some skiers have a death wish, and others go one step further by not caring so much as even think anything of death. One such man is Cody Townsend, who won Powder Video Awards “Line of the Year” with this segment from the ski film Days of My Youth by MSP Films and Red Bull Media House. In the video, Townsend shoots down a seemingly vertical slot that almost splits a mountain in half, located deep in Alaska’s Tordrillo mountain range. Sheer cliff faces whiz past him on both sides as he deftly skis his way down an impossibly narrow line to literally the light at the end of the tunnel. Watch the video above and be astounded.
