Man Charged for Stealing 7,500 Pairs of Pre-Release Nike LeBron 12s Worth $1.5 Million
Memphis man Charles Jennings has just been charged with theft of property for stealing 7,500 pairs

Memphis man Charles Jennings has just been charged with theft of property for stealing 7,500 pairs of Nike LeBron 12s in court this past week. At the time of theft, the shoes had not been released to the public yet and were worth a total retail value of $1.5 million USD. Jennings reportedly used his Intermodal Cartage Group employee ID card to gain access to the shoes’ location in a secure lot and subsequently drove off with them in the cargo company’s truck this past November. The investigation was launched by Memphis Auto Cargo Task Force – which includes the FBI - when Intermodal reported the missing truck, thus leading to Jennings’ arrest on November 14. The theft was done intentionally, as Jennings admitted to the act in a recorded conversation with police, further stating he had already sold about 700 pairs of the sneakers for a total of $623,280 USD in a week’s time. Jennings is currently free on a $75,000 USD bond, but is set to appear in court after the new year. The Nike LeBron 12s now sell in retail stores for $200 USD.
