This is different. As Diplo points out, it’s usually rappers who “co-opt rap beats,” now it’s indie artists adopting that approach. Diplo has linked up with Vampire Weekend‘s Rostam Batmanglij and Grizzly Bear‘s Ed Droste to flip Ty Dolla $ign‘s recent single “Stand For” into a new song entitled “Long Way Home.” The production remains the same, but the vocals have switched up quite a bit.
