I was really into classic suit styles a few years ago and I thought It would be very good idea to make a special custom-made pocket watch for myself.

I naturally gravitated to Tudor because of its background with Rolex, offering a more affordable, Swiss-made watch with high standards (the crown and case still bore the Rolex name). Also, moving from Eastern Canada — where the winters are cold (just Google "Ice Storm of 1998") — to Hong Kong, it was intuitive that I went for a 'Snowflake.'

I wanted a significant watch for my 40th birthday and my wife was happy to oblige. Though it wasn’t a secret, it was still exciting to pick it up after it was engraved with my initials and date.

This one is made by a German company that used to manufacture cockpit clocks for fighter planes, and I was drawn to its simplicity and clean face.

I always love getting prototypes of our watches to test and we pride ourselves on our testing process. It has been my companion on every trip and I love it. It has a really simple dial and I think that sometimes simplicity is the best.

This watch has more sentimental value than nearly any other material possession in my life. I've been wanting to get a GMT II as a daily wearer because as time goes on, I have a fear of something happening to the Datejust and knowing that a watch like that isn't replaceable.

Panerai Luminor Marina Left-Handed (PAM26) | Miggy Gala

This is a 2008 special edition from Panerai, a classic brand that began in Italy but is now based in Switzerland. It’s a reissue of their PVD-coated military dive watch on a NATO strap in the rare “Destro,” or left-handed configuration which sees the crown/crown guard moved from the three o’clock position to nine and the sub seconds dial moved to three o’clock.

It is meaningful to me because it is the first release of an ongoing "Popeye" collaboration with Bamford Watch Department. We just released the Deepsea “Brutus” and have a couple lined up with other characters.

This watch was a gift from my friends over at Tiger Distribution. I appreciate this watch for its true functionality and durability. It is quite nondescript and doesn't get you unwanted attention but still a great piece to look at.
