will.i.am Enters the Wearables Market with the PULS Smartwatch

will.i.am is ready to conquer the wearable technology realm. After initial plans to release his PULS smartwatch in July were scrapped, the Grammy Award-winning producer unveiled more details about the product to the public in a Dreamforce keynote. The unprecedented device is a smartwatch with exceptional capabilities. Built-in applications offer social media access, GPS, fitness functions, and a music player. But the most innovative aspect is the timepiece’s ability to make phone calls, making the PULS the first phone-free device to offer such a feature. will.i.am’s company, i.am+ is also developing a jacket, backpack and shoes to coincide with the PULS. A release date has not been set for the PULS, but it is expected to retail for less than an iPhone.
