Drone Captures Bird's-Eye View Footage of an Erupting Volcano in Iceland

Known for its rough landscape filled with active volcanoes throughout the terrain, Iceland is a hotbed for erupting mountains. Courtesy of DJI Phantom quadcopter drones fixed with a mounted GoPro, we now have a closeup view of the eruptions of a Bardabunga volcanic system in the remote areas of the country. Rarely seen in person, molten magma spews to the surface, while hot lava runs down the volcano as aerial imagery provides a detailed 360-view of the action. The current eruption lands on a fissure between the Bardarbunga and Askja volcanoes, exemplifying one of the more important geological processes on the planet. Enjoy the vibrant aerial visuals above.
