When something is that good however, it will surely bring about its own imitations. Tired of seeing core elements from its mainstay model being replicated by the likes of Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Sketchers and many others, Converse filed 22 separate lawsuits this week with the United States District Court in Brooklyn, accusing 31 companies of trademark infringement. Although the century-old shoemaker is seeking monetary reparations, its main goal is getting these impostors off the shelves, which is why it filed a complaint with the International Trade Commission as well. Although it is quite difficult to prove trademark infringement in the world of fashion, it’s obvious Converse was the first on the scene with this design.
