BlackBerry Interim CEO John Chen recently announced at CES 2014 that after several years of dabbling into software keyboards, its future devices will go back to focusing on physical keyboards. ”I personally love the keyboards,” Chen said, “so you will look to BlackBerry going forward to do keyboards — I wouldn’t use the word exclusively, but predominantly.” Despite the significant drop in the popularity of hardware keyboards, Chen plans to re-target and better address the needs of corporate and government users who are beginning to value faster and more intuitive typing. Stay tuned for more on BlackBerry.
