‘Tupac’ Biopic Gets Financial Backing and is Soon to Begin Production

We recently reported illustrious Broadway producer Kenny Leon‘s recent ventures in Holler If Ya Hear Me — a musical based on the late great rap star Tupac Shakur. Now it seems like another film regarding the hip-hop icon is underway. Morgan Creep Productions has partnered with Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films to co-finance and co-produce Tupac, a new biopic with an estimated budget of $45 million USD. Production will start next February in Atlanta, with Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur also lending a hand in production. While they haven’t decided on who to play Tupac, we do know that notable filmmakers Antoine Fuga and John Signleton have been enlisted as directors. Stay tuned for more on the cast and lineup.
