Nikon has just unveiled its newest camera model – the rugged, waterproof AW1. The first waterproof, interchangeable lens camera in the industry, the AW1 is submersible down to 49 feet without the need for a waterproof housing. The mirrorless camera will work with any Nikon 1 series lens but will only remain waterproof if used with either the AW 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.6 or AW 10mm f/2.8 lenses. In addition to being waterproof, the camera is also shockproof and can withstand a drop from up to six feet. The camera will be available in a package with the AW 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.6 lens for $800 USD or with both lenses for $1,000 USD.
