To accompany the release of MGMT‘s self-titled third album, the band has released a new visual accompaniment to one of the less experimental tracks on the album – “Cool Song No. 2.” Despite being signed to some major labels, it seems as if the Andrew VanWyngarden and company have only tapped the available resources to reinforce their eccentricities. As such, here we find the video for “Cool Song No. 2” starring former The Wire actor Michael K. Williams in a neon-filled fantasy drama. Williams plays the “Plant Hunter,” a trained assassin and distributor who turns plants into drugs. After falling in love with an affected user though, the Plant Hunter has a distinct epiphany. This video is definitely a memorable one, so enjoy it above.
