POW! WOW! School of Music

POW! WOW! – the curator of an annual week-long art festival in Hawaii – recently forayed into another artistic realm with its School of Music initiative. In conjunction with hatter Flexfit, this specialized program provides young Hawaiian musicians between the ages of 13 and 18 unique learning opportunities with classes on composition, vocals, percussion, guitar, engineering, performance, business and much more. In the school’s inaugural year, POW! WOW! was able to leverage its internationally revered name to pull in equally respected local and national musicians, teachers and music industry professionals alike. At the end of the program, students then collaborated with one another to create an original piece that was performed at the art festival’s ceremonial closing night.
