Art-driven collective The Lurkers blend their affinity for street art and photography with limitless expeditions. Venturing into unused barracks, desolated spots or discovering awe-inspiring landscapes, the London-based collective go froth with their endeavors, gratifyingly putting “the lurk in, so you don’t have to.” Their latest adventure takes them to Bulgaria where they explore the capital of Sofia, coastal beaches, and the ominous construction of Buzludzha — a deducted monument which once served the communist regime at its most powerful. Conjuring eerie dispositions of a spaceship out of a 1950s sci-fi film, the once-active House-Monument of the Bulgarian Communist Party receives a new slice of rendition amid the tarnished silhouettes of Marx, Lenin et al.
