We all knew Hov would “F.U.T.W.” with the release of Magna Carta… Holy Grail, maybe not musically, but certainly so through his unconventional digital release strategy. Continuing his worldly destruction, the artist formerly known as Jay-Z aims to f*** up your iTunes library by announcing he will no longer include the hyphen in his name; the same hyphen that once aligned him with fellow Originator Jaz-O and has since been the butt of many lyrical puns. The announcement came from Billboard editor Joe Levy last night via his Twitter account, who received word from the Brooklyn entrepreneur’s Roc Nation imprint. Many are likely wondering “who cares,” yet this rebranding may mean Sean Corey is tailoring his image to the digital realm, because as we all know, hyphens can’t be used in hashtags.
