GQ Asks its Favorite Artists to "PLEASE ADD GRAFFITI" to Kanye West's 'Yeezus'

Leading up to Yeezus‘ highly anticipated release, Kanye West and his creative team at DONDA took a slightly different approach to the usual marketing scheme for a new album – no singles were released and no music videos were created. Reminiscent of the guerrilla music marketing of old, the crew simply sent posters out as promotion – posters that sported the minimalist Yeezus “artwork” flanked by the Def Jam logo and instructions to “PLEASE ADD GRAFFITI.” GQ took it upon themselves to do exactly that, enlisting the help of Mister Cartoon, ESPO, Curtis Kulig, Wil Fry, and even James Franco to craft designs of their own. The results, pictured here, include the previously-revealed ESPO piece, Kulig’s signature “LOVE ME” motif, a Mister Cartoon design inspired by Kim Kardashian‘s eyes, Franco’s nod to American Psycho – he was originally asked to partake in the Scott Disick-starring short film – and Fry’s nod to the album’s leak on the internet.
