In support of their Kitsuné AMERICA 2 album, Kitsuné takes their popular Kitsuné Club Night to Chicago this Thursday, May 16. The hosts of the night will be internationally-renowned purveyors of sophisticated dance floor tunes — Plastic Plates and Moon Boots. We had the chance to have a quick Q&A with Los Angeles-based producer Plastic Plates to find out about his thoughts on his involvement in Kitsuné Club Night. In addition, we have collected some visual impressions from the part in Mexico City for you. Enjoy!
How do you feel about sharing the stage with Moon Boots in Chicago?
Pete is a very talented man, we have become friends on my few trips to Chicago. I’m very happy we’re playing together!
You’re from LA, do you think it had an influence on your work compared as if you were from NYC for example?
I’m actually originally from Australia but I’ve been living in LA since ‘06. Yes I’m sure my surroundings and my musical friends have played a big part in influencing my sound.
You’re touring a lot at the moment, is there a particular venue you love/wish playing at in the U.S.?
I have been lucky to be playing all over the U.S. the past few years, there’s too many to say. Just in Chicago alone I’ve played at Berlin, Smart Bar, The Mid, Debonair. I’ve had great nights at all of them.
What’s next for you?
More touring, remixes and original music all in the immediate future. And a holiday in south of France too!
