Frequently guarded, Andy Warhol was the subject of intense speculation during his career, not to mention posthumously. The artist was already at a comfortably legendary point in September 1981, when by chance, a young English photographer was connected with him to shoot a series of portraits. That photographer was Steve Wood and, for the past 30 years he thought little of this brief project until a friend uncovered the photos, which presently has led to a special exhibition in New York at 345meatpacking. The exhibition of previously unseen photos will run from May 3 through May 12.
