On Monday night, we received a double dose of Drake in the form of his headlining appearance on DJ Khaled‘s new single, “No New Friends,” and his own new song, “Girls Love Beyoncé” featuring James Fauntleroy. The latter already falls in line with some of Drizzy’s more mellow R&B songs, but from first listen it had been begging to be slowed down even more with a certain Houston technique we’ve all come to know and love. It just has that feel to it. Speaking of begging, though, there’s been a lot of chatter that’s suggested “No New Friends” might as well be Drake’s own song. Well, as luck would have it, OG Ron C has come to the rescue by applying his chopping-and-screwing skills to both records. The official ‘Chopped-Up Not Slopped-Up’ version of “Girls Love Beyoncé” might even be better than the original, and his take on “No New Friends” features Drake and Drake only. Is everyone happy now? Good.
