The music blogosphere had mixed reactions on Tuesday when BBC News reported that Kanye West was possibly releasing his new album under the title I Am God. Given Ye’s track record of being an outspoken leader of sorts, many people ran with the notion of it actually being true. Well today, the Huffington Post broke the news that a reliable confidant in Ye’s camp (Malik Yusef) is speaking up and explains that title is for Ye’s upcoming single, and that no album names have been set. Furthermore, the track is actually called “I Am (A) God,” and not “I Am God” as previously rumored. He also went on to state:
“We would never be so presumptuous or sacrilegious to call ourselves the supreme being,” the source said. While everyone will have to wait for the actual song to parse the specifics of the song’s message, the source hinted that the idea was generally that all people are manifestations of a higher power.
