José Parlá “Broken Language” Exhibition @ Haunch of Venison Recap
José Parlá’s “Broken Language” exhibition at Haunch of Venison served as the artists first UK show

José Parlá‘s “Broken Language” exhibition at Haunch of Venison served as the artists first UK show since his significant “Adaptation/Translation” event back in 2008. Those in attendance were treated to a heavily calligraphy-based approach to his latest works – with layers of street ephemera like ripped posters and advertisements employed as part of his “empire of fragmented cacophonies, observed performances, palimpsestic musical gestures, and topographical compositions governing the essence of the cities he has traveled through.” “Broken Language” runs through March 28.
