After a successful 2012 that saw a strong Fall/Winter 2012 collection as well as placement in retail heavyweight Opening Ceremony, Korean label COVERNAT debuts its Spring/Summer 2013 “Indigo Blossom” collection. Taking a decidedly fabric-focused route for the season, the designers tapped the region of Okayama, Japan, for an assortment of its handprinted and natural dyed indigo fabrics. The technique was used to create a tonal blue-on-blue tropical flower print that was used on a jacket and shorts. In addition to the offbeat all-over prints and unconventional application methods, the COVERNAT range also infused selvedge denim, waxed cottons, oxford fabrics and black satins throughout the collection. Yet another consistent and well-tailored delivery from COVERNAT, availability will arrive through the brand’s online store beginning February 23.
