Jony Ive and Marc Newson Customize Jaeger-LeCoultre Pieces for (RED)
When Sotheby’s plays host to the (RED) Auction in New York to benefit The Global Fund to fight

When Sotheby’s plays host to the (RED) Auction in New York to benefit The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria this November, Jony Ive‘s and Marc Newson‘s special edition Leica M will be joined by customized Jaeger-LeCoultre pieces from the two designers. The collaboration features a Memovox Tribute to Deep Sea wristwatch alongside an Atmos 561 Clock – both created from the ground up especially for the auction. While the watch is reminiscent of the original European version of the Deep Sea thanks to a black dial, the Atmos 561 – initially designed by Newson himself back in 2008 – sees a Baccarat crystal bubble housing an Atmos movement powered by Jaeger-LeCoultre’s proprietary bellows-like technology from 1928. Naturally, both pieces come with special red accents throughout. Like the Leica M, both custom Jaeger-LeCoultre pieces will be available from Sotheby’s as it kicks off the (RED) Auction at its New York headquarters on November 23.
