Coinciding with its unveiling at this year’s 2013 Detroit Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz releases a trailer showcasing two variations of its A-platform range subcompact car. Considered to be a “baby” version of the CLS, one can’t help but notice the aerodynamics of the body. Starting from the front bumper, large vents, and an open grille allow for more airflow, while aggressive lines on the hood and side guide you to the uniquely tapered rear lights. Shown in grey and red is the CLA 250 and CLA 220, respectively. With a focus on the turbocharged 1.8-liter, 208 horsepower CLA250, the dubstep-accompanied trailer does justice in showing off the car’s performance on the road as well as the overall refinement of the vehicle. Forecasted for sale Stateside early this coming May, the CLA line is sure to gain attention from consumers looking for an entry-level luxury/performance sedan at a more reasonable price.
