It seems Nike has drawn a line in the sand when it comes to the replication of anything close to their well-received Flyknit material. Recently, the sneaker juggernaut was granted an interim injunction by a District Court in Nuremberg against adidas for patent infringement over the adizero Primeknit shoe that was released in July, 2012. In speaking about the legal actions, Nike commented, “Nike has a strong heritage of innovation and leadership in footwear design and development. Our patents are the foundation of that leadership and we protect them vigorously. In this case, the injunction helps protect the innovative Flyknit footwear technology Nike introduced in February, 2012.”
