Lupe Fiasco has always been somewhat counter-culture in his approach to his music, career and lyrical content. Today brings the unveiling for the official artwork from the artist’s upcoming Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1. Surprisingly enough, the artwork is decidedly a solitary black color — something that was previously revealed in two iTunes tracks, yet was confused as filler visuals until a later date when it was anticipated different visuals would surface. Perhaps harboring a deeper meaning than what meets the eye, the all-black-everything art will officially grace the album’s cover on its expected release date of September 25. Pre-orders for the album are now offered directly through Warner Music Group. What are your thoughts on the cover?
