There seems to be no end in sight for Jay-Z entrepreneurial endeavors. The mogul has added a partnership with Duracell Powermat for “Wireless Power Nation” as his latest business venture. The project involves phone charging systems that will be installed on tables and bars in social venues. According to a spokesperson for the project it enables to charge their devices just by placing them on a Powermat-equipped table – with a nationwide roll-out to coffee shops, restaurants, clubs, gyms and bars across the country. Accordingly, the service will be offered in Jay-Z’s own 40/40 Club in New York City.
“I believe in the future of wireless energy and I believe that Duracell Powermat is the company to bring on the revolution. I’m partnering with Duracell Powermat because they’re providing the solutions for the future.”
Aside from Jay-Z, Powermat has partnered with Chevrolet in this endeavor and Chevrolet cars will also have this technology in their new Volt vehicles. This system reportedly costs $100. Sounds like a big deal.
