This past week Italian-based fashion label Stone Island held an exhibit highlighting its 30th anniversary dating back to 1982. The menswear brand headed by Carlo Rivetti, has spent three decades researching and experimenting with textiles as well as studying the function and use of its clothing, leading to innovative apparel that continues to enhance utilitarian use. Curated by British creatives Simon Foxton and Nick Griffiths, the exhibition was held at the Fondazione Pitti Discovery in Florence where the 2,000 square meters of space was divided into 10 different areas with each touching on a specific theme of excellence explored by Stone Island. A harmonic examination through the fields of research, illustrating their origins and evolutions, the above images have been provided for the unprivileged fashion enthusiasts that are enjoying the views of Pitti Uomo from the comforts of their computer chair.
