Known for high-fashion art pieces and experimentation with distorted, seemingly nonsensical shapes, fashion designer and England native Gareth Pugh has been widely praised by critics with his collections regularly compared to the likes of Alexander McQueen and John Galliano. Getting his start at just 14 years of age, the 30-year-old first broke onto the scene in 2005, single-handedly creating his first collection without a studio or assistants. Crane.tv recently caught up with Pugh at his studio in East London, touching on the designer’s childhood in Sunderland, mentor Rick Owens and his latest projects.
