No one knows humble beginnings more than Brooklyn-based fashion label The Hill-Side. Early lookbooks were comprised of close friends shot in the hallways of the brand’s own apartment building. Flash forward to its present successes, and The Hill-Side are still maintaining the same photogenic simplicity to showcase its unique collection of domestically-produced ties, handkerchiefs and scarves. For Spring/Summer 2012, and The Hill-Side’s sixth lookbook, some of the same friends are placed in front of a fabric curtain, and photographed “school portrait” style. The end result is a look that is as simple and authentic as the collection itself.
