Rei Kawakubo to Collaborate with Hermès for “Noir et Blanc" and "Couleur" Collection
Legendary COMME des GARCONS designer Rei Kawakubo recently announced a collaboration with French

Legendary COMME des GARCONS designer Rei Kawakubo recently announced a collaboration with French label Hermes for two limited-edition scarf collections. The “Noir et Blanc” and “Couleur” collections will feature special patterns by Kawakubo, who chose an artisanal focus to add to the Hermes legacy. Rather than concentrating on the scarf as it will be worn, the designer saw each fine thread as a blank canvas, adding a sense of individuality and uniqueness to the collection. The “Noir et Blanc” collection will feature five scarves, each with black and white abstract patterns. The “Couleur” collection is a range of six colorful scarves, each of which interprets traditional patterns (such as stripes and Vichy cheeks) and re-works their narrative, reinforcing the idea of history woven so strongly into each Hermes piece. The “Couleur” collection will be exclusively available at Dover Street Market stores in London and Tokyo, while the “Noir et Blanc” will be available in London, Paris and New York locations.
