Over 10 years ago, Justin Foosh and Rob Clarke set out to create Foosh in the oil town of Edmonton, Canada. Set on the liberally-minded Whyte Avenue, Foosh became one of Edmonton’s defining pillars of streetwear, music and culture. With a strong element of music uniting Justin Der and Rob Clarke, Foosh has come to represent an all-encompassing lifestyle approach with Treehouse Records claiming its home in the back of the current Foosh store. With a successful business under his belt, Der and Clarke set forth on their new gastropub project, The Common. An equal focus on both food and music has provided Edmontonians with a new neighborhood hangout and once again contributed something inherently different to the scene — not unlike Foosh’s beginnings back in 1999. We caught up with Der as the Harley-riding misfit shared several of his HYPEBEAST Essentials which feature a list of utilitarian items ranging from business-related necessities to a Biltwell helmet and poop bags for his dog Olive. Notably absent are ticket stubs from Tiesto’s Edmonton stop back in 2007.
