Having previously worked with the likes of adidas, Medicom and Trojan Records, renowned sneaker customizer and artist Benji Blunt has created a special edition of New Balance‘s 1500 as the footwear manufacturer celebrates the 30th anniversary of its Flimby factory in northern England. Looking to highlight both the Union Jack branding details of Blunt’s childhood sneakers as well as the urban environment in which he grew up, the kicks see an oversized Union Jack graphic on the heel while the “1500” embroidery is highlighted with a graffiti-esque paint drip. Employing the artist’s signature custom spot pattern along the mudguard, the classic UK-made runner comes complete with a tan, yellow and blue upper of premium leather and mesh with contrasting white accents throughout.
