Amy Winehouse's 'Back to Black' reenters Top 10 on Billboard 200 chart

Days after her tragic death, Amy Winehouse’s sophomore LP, Back to Black, has reentered the top 10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. According to Nielsen SoundScan, the Grammy-winning opus has spot No. 9 with 37,000 copies sold in the U.S. This contrasts the sales from last week, when the LP only sold 1,000 units. In addition, Winehouse’s debut 2004 Frank has also found its way back to the chart at No. 57 with 8,000 units sold. As Billboard points out, there were more Amy Winehouse albums purchased in the past week (55,000) than during the first six months of the year (44,000). More than 95% of the album sales were comprised of downloads. It’s expected that Winehouse’s albums and songs will see even bigger sales next week, after a full week’s worth of impact from her passing is felt on the charts.
