Here’s a look at the 2011 fall/winter lookbook from Swedish label Velour. Founded by Per Andersson back in 1997, Velour was born when Andersson started rummaging through the piles of clothing left over from his grandmother’s old ready-to-wear shop (which closed in the mid-1980s after 50 years of business) and began to design clothes that were inspired by the pieces that he found. The lookbook, which was photographed in the same old store Andersson’s grandparents used to own, highlights some of the styles that Velour does best. Chinos are featured in several new colors and vintage washes alongside T-shirts and cable knits. Some of the checked shirts are made from ecological cotton while others use fabrics like chambray, poplin and corduroy. Also, warm winter jackets include some very authentic detailing like one waxed cotton duffel coat with wooden toggles and leather trim.
