Over the last little while, Umbro has kept a comprehensive dialog regarding the recently unveiled national team kit for England’s football team. Spearheaded by decorated designer Aitor Throup, the jersey was debuted during yesterday’s England vs. Slovakia friendly which alongside an all new design, featured a 4-nil drubbing which included a double by Wayne Rooney and David Beckham becoming England’s most capped outfield player. The final product is ultra (and perhaps overly) minimalistic with a small collar and placket. The crest is an update on the traditional Three Lions design with a subtle white star to denote the lone World Cup victory England enjoyed back in 1966. A more thorough break-down of some of the legendary English tailoring that has gone into the design can be seen over at Umbro.com.
