With Gumball 3000 kicking off this weekend, here’s a quick run-down of the people behind this year’s 5&A Dime Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X sponsored in part by HYPEBEAST and Fiberops. The four person crew include Lanny Higa, Jason (Jay) Huggins, Mike Alonza and Alyasha Owerka-Moore. Check the pre-rally highlights and the crew after the jump.

Lanny Higa
Lanny is the grease monkey of the crew. Formerly a departmen head at aftermarket parts company Apexi, he is the man behind the brand o2 Motorworks, a part of the F.I.S.M collective.

Jason (Jay) Huggins
A co-founders of 5&A Dime, San Diego’s streetwear destination, he an ex-BMX racer and with it was his idea to bring the SE OM Flyer BMX for the ride. He’s also known as Stromboli, the mustache man.

Mike Alzona
“Iron Mike” is the Sales and Marketing Manager for Fiberops, and the Creative Director / Brand Manager for Irons Situation Control Clothing. In addition, he’s the DJ and drummer for The Upstarts, a San Diego rap group. He will head up the music for this years Gumball party in Beijing at Song.

Alyasha Owerka-Moore
“With a professional career spanning from New York to Hong Kong, Tokyo and San Diego, Aly’s varied geographical background is as diverse as his ethnic makeup and cultural interests. It’s no surprise
that this postmodern Renaissance man has been responsible for some of the most trend-setting and intriguing work in contemporary fashion history. From his past successes within the skate/urban/street universe cultivating iconic brands like Shut Skates, Alphanumeric, Dub Brand Outerwear, Droors, American Dream, and now his current label, Fiberops… Aly has not only been there and done that, chances are he’s the one who founded it.”
