In a bold move, Nike has taken the initiative to create a series of sport specific performance footwear models for all types of events and sports. While in the past, footwear for select sports including equestrian, archery and sailing were without the backing of large and established sporting brands, Nike has overlooked few sports in this Olympic collection. Their collection slated for the 2008 Olympics extends from the aforementioned events to also include weightlifting, taekwondo, BMX, badminton, fencing and running events. Look for these on the feet of the world’s stars this summer.
