Our foray into the Creative Recreation 2008 Spring collection stops here with a concluding look at the collection featuring the Gambi, Milano and Ponti. The Gambi enters the scene at a time when boat and deck shoe derivatives are at a peak while the Milano holds a strong emphasis on the use of materials. Rounding out the threesome is the high-top Ponti and its elasticized upper. While many smaller labels often turn to established classics as their inroad into the sneaker segment, you can easily consider Creative Recreation as a brand who has created their own paths to success. Available now at Creative Recreation dealers worldwide.
As part of their 2008 Spring collection, Los Angeles sneaker boutique and brand Greyone put together two marquee pieces with local brand Diamond Supply Co. and New York’s 3sixteen. The Diamond Supply Co. t-shirt features Greyone’s crest and sade logo with Diamond’s own typography. The 3sixteen tee includes a combination of recent 3sixteen imagery with Greyone references to create a set of gauntlet hands wielding a sword. Available now at Karmaloop.
In an ongoing special collection for honeyee.com magazine, Volume 4 of the magazine is marked by WTAPS as the latest brand to collaborate with the leading Japanese lifestyle site. Their jungle shirt features dual patches featuring Honeyee and Militia while the rear is printed with a modified Honeyee bones logo. The shirt is available only through Honeyee Store.
Hard edged Japanese boutique Black Rebel has made a ring befitting of their image together with jewelers Magical Design. The Flaming Monk Skull ring is something which probably draws references to Terminator 2 with the detailed skull design and ruby jewels. The release date is expected for next month.

In its 4th season, the Puma Table Tennis Tournament has become synonymous with overly competitive industry people at each other’s throats with both company pride and industry bragging rights on the line. For the 2008 PT3 edition, the tournament is leaving its original Chinatown roots and taking over The powerHouse Arena in Brooklyn. The formidable cast of participants include Formavision, NY Times, Nom De Guerre, Google, Comedy Central, joao, Flavorpill, rude, Staple Design, Shop Architects, Theme Magazine and Psyop. Winners this year will take home a Puma Glow in the Dark Bike and afforded the opportunity to design a Mongolian BBQ Puma Basket. It’s unfortunate HYPEBEAST will not be in attendance as we know Chinese people are only good at three things, kung-fu, mathematics and ping-pong. The mayhem takes place this Friday, check the below for details.
