A pair of Japan’s finest contemporary artists, Takashi Murakami and Mr., have collaborated withSupreme on an upcoming series of skate decks. Ironically, Mr. was previously mentored by none other then Murakami himself. Murakami’s signature “Superflat” style is a melding of both high and low art, effectively blurring the lines. Mr.’s style is perhaps best described as a manga meets sexuality style of art. Together both of these marquee artists have captivated the attention of many art lovers around the world. The series will include a set of 3 skate decks designed by each artist. The decks will be available at Supreme locations in Los Angeles, New York and Japan (4 locations) as well as select Supreme retailers.

Industrial designer Michael Young has linked up with the Lacoste to design a series of polos for the Holiday Collectors Series. The Holiday Collectors Series focuses on outside inspiration and brings forth designers beyond the traditional realm of fashion to reinterpret the classic Lacoste polo. Michael Young has been considered as one of the best designers of his generation. With a strong attraction to plastic, Young based his reinterpretations around combining fabric and plastic to create this futuristic polo. He created two different polo designs, the Polo and the Polo+. On the regular Plastic Polo, unlike conventional screen printing techniques, the ink was baked to cause blistering and a texturized skin. The use of plastic on the Plastic Polo+ creates a metallic leaf film crocodile skin pattern which references the well known crocodile logo of Lacoste. The end effect is a distressed, vintage styled design. 1000 of these polos were made available, packaged in part with a re-sealable metallic black plastic tray. The Plastic Polo + is currently available at colette.
