Converse 2007 Fall Collection

Despite the long and storied history of Converse which has spanned close to a century, the company whose foundation was built largely on the laurels of a few models has created some new reinterpretations of their timeless classics. Among the new releases for this season are All-Star Hi’s featuring extra large logo’s, printed fronts and the use of new materials. Another notable release is that of a screen printed Jack Purcell slip-on with a “fake lace” print. Check your local Converse dealer for availability. Image: Flauge

CLOT Royale Western Shirt

CLOT Royale Western Shirt

Hong Kong’s CLOT wanted to create a special garment which could effectively transcended eastern and western culture to create a united garment. The by-product of this achievement yielded the CLOT Royale Western shirt. In recent memory, the Japanese market has often taken the Western shirt and reinterpreted it as their own. For CLOT, the problem lied on how CLOT could create a product that could cater to the local market. Traditional Western shirts often utilize a denim yoke. To give the product an inherent Chinese feel, CLOT went the route of silk on the yoke. The use of silk is accompanied by careful selection of the flannel design and detailed buttons. In the end, CLOT managed to offer an updated and elegant reinspiration on timeless classic. This shirt is set to release at Juice on Thursday, October 18th with a price tag of $1,780 HKD (approximately $230 USD).

Unitedfront x La Carrera x Colnago Artist Series

Unitedfront x La Carrera x Colnago Artist Series

Canadian representatives the Unitedfront and Toronto based bike retailer La Carrera recently teamed up with fabled bike frame manufacturers Colnago for a special upcoming project. Italian brand Colnago has created a name for itself in the bike world for its technologically advanced products and its dedication to high quality products as shown by their ISO 9001 certification. The team at La Carrera felt it necessary to further stress the relationship developed between fixed gear bikes and its recent participation in street culture. Two legendary artists in Futura and Stash were brought in to further compliment this project. Back in the 1980s, Futura himself spent some time as a bike messenger along the busy streets of New York City. His inclusion in these creations offers credibility in more forms than one. This exhibition will also mark the first time Stash and Futura have exhibited in Canada. 33 frames for each design will be unveiled on Saturday, November 17th in Toronto and in Vancouver (January date TBA).
