Jun Takahashi’s roots can be traced to Tokyo’s Bunka Academy of Fashion, where the young designer conceptualized a range of punk-inspired graphic T-shirts that would evolve into the pioneering Ura-Harajuku label UNDERCOVER. Having built a name for his progressive take on Japanese fashion, Takahashi soon paired with Nike to launch GYAKUSOU, a sportswear brand that emphasizes stylistic functionality. Approaching its fifth year in fusing performance and minimalism, the GYAKUSOU line dropped a bevy of popular collections for runners around the world. 2014 also saw Jun pair with a number of brands, including a kids line for fast fashion powerhouse Uniqlo.
