When one thinks of the first wave of women’s streetwear, it’s hard not to think of Married to the Mob and Leah McSweeney. In the early days, the brand was a strong proponent for a brash, no-holds-barred communicative approach through both marketing and design. While its aforementioned ethos remains the same, Married to the Mob stepped up its efforts in 2014 through both the launch of its new menswear line as well as collaborations with the likes of Peanuts and CLOT as it aims to extend its reach well beyond the domestic women’s market.
