Prior to launching nanamica over a decade ago, Eiichiro Homma began his career in the late ‘80s designing and marketing technical outerwear for GOLDWIN INC. - a brand that has partnered with the likes of THE NORTH FACE, Helly Hansen, Filson and more. Building upon these partnerships and his relationships with high-tech fabric mills, the Japanese native opted to launch a brand that could meld sports, utility and style into each design. Now one of the leading figures in lifestyle gear in Asia, Homma is also known as the visionary behind the popular diffusion line THE NORTH FACE PURPLE LABEL. In 2014, nanamica has expanded on its long list collaborations and opened its fourth retail location, while the PURPLE LABEL brand continues to be a favorite around the world, even if its is only offered in Japan. Homma’s accolade is nod for bringing a lifestyle approach to functional outerwear long before it began a trend.
