Opening Ceremony and the Where The Wild Things Are franchise have teamed up to release a special copy of the novel by Dave Eggers. Decked out in a fur motif, the book features an opening unveiling the eyes of the book’s main character, Max. The Dave Eggers novel is adapted from the original Maurice Sendak illustrated book and Spike Jonze’s Where The Wild Things Are screenplay. Available now at Opening Ceremony.

Giving us another dose of its lineup with Where the Wild Things Are, Medicom Toy release an additional figure in the collaborative series, this time coming in the form of a 400% Max figure. Max, the story’s protagonist, is shown in his signature suit with a crown and king’s staff . Available now through colette.

Offering a new set of figures in their more natural form, Medicom Toy releases a collection of toys from their latest collaboration alongside Where The Wild Things Are. Included in this more realistic lineup, based off the upcoming silver screen interpretation, are Bull, Douglas, Carol, Ira, Judith, K.W., and a dual set with Max & Alexander. Surrounding all the hoopla regarding Spike Jonze’ theatrical adaptation of “Where The Wild Things Are” has been an endless array of product releases, from apparel to jewelry and everything in between. Probably best capturing the book/films’ childhood element is this new set of Bearbricks and Kubrick from Medicom Toy. Featured is a Black “Max” Bearbrick in 400% format along with a set of the same design in a 100% scale, paired with the actual silhouette of Max in Kubrick style. The upcoming children’s book to movie adaptation Where The Wild Things Are by Spike Jonze continues on a high-profile route as this time around, Opening Ceremony gets involved in an exclusive collection. In some instances a very literal take on the movie’s aesthetic is exercised leading to some costume-like creations with a further follow-up of jewelry provided by Pamela Love. Available at Opening Ceremony on September 28th.

In anticipation of Spike Jonze’s forthcoming film, Where The Wild Things Are, Space 15 Twenty is hosting a combination of pop-up shop and gallery featuring various installations to go alongside WTWTA-themed products and memorabilia. Celebrating the launch of Spike Jonze big screen adaptation of Where The Wild Things Are, Medicom Toy will be producing a commemorative set of Kubricks in some of the films/books favorite characters, including the protagonist, Max. The Spike Jonze directed Where the Wild Things Are brings light to the iconic Maurice Sendak children’s book most of us remember reading as a child including fellow bloggers Bobby Hundreds and Jeff Hamada. Making its big screen debut over 40 years after its inception in the world of books, we finally get a chance to check out the official trailer.

An adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s classic children’s story, where Max, a disobedient little boy sent to bed without his supper, creates his own world–a forest inhabited by ferocious wild creatures that crown Max as their ruler.
