These Vans Sk8-His are a result of a collaboration between Vans and Niagara, a Detroit based artist and musician. A founding member of the proto-punk band Destroy All Monsters, she has of late risen to notoriety through her artwork. A cynical mix of Lichtenstein style comic strip women & riot girl attitudes, her pieces are highly sought after in the Lowbrow art scene. The Sk8-Hi model juxtaposes a subtle black color scheme with splashes of bright yellow and red mixed in with artwork depicting martini glasses and glass bottles. Sure to be an attention grabbing release, these have already released at DQM.

Not a new print from Vans by any means, the checkerboard has undergone a bit of color transformation for Vans' latest spring/summer collection of SK-8 HIs. The uppers of the sneaker each possess different colors of checkerboard material ranging from blue/black and orange/black on the outstep to red/white and black/white on the instep. Source: essense

Pioneering hardcore punk band Bad Brains finds themselves at the center of an upcoming collaboration with Supreme and Vans. Revolving around the bands colors are three Vans SK-8 HIs each interchanging the colors red, green and yellow. No word yet on a release date. Source: Shoe Master Vol. 09

Here is Van's third installment of their Iron Maiden collabo scheduled for their Holiday collection. Iron Maiden's art work is epic and this collabo could be compared to Nike's work with Pushead. Christian Hosoi was one of the popular skaters during the 1980's along with other pro's including Tony Hawk. In 2006, he was signed with Vans and received his pro model shoe, the SK8-HI. This year, the Hosoi models which include a SK8-HI and a Era will be launching once again. Like previous shoes, the Hosoi sneaker features the raising sun graphic that was first used on his debut skate deck with Sims Skateboards. Available now at ripe and Flauge.
