Vans crack open the Vault once more, this time to rework its Mid Skool 77 model. Due in spring of this year, three new colorways have been produced, each styled as the most luxurious to date. Using thick premium leathers and mature two-tone colorways, each boot faithfully retains its iconic silhouette and makes the most of its features by coloring them. Fans can look forward to the white/blue, red/black and black/white at select stores soon.

Taking cues from the great outdoors, Vans California adds a hiker element to its classic Mid Skool 77. A modern remake of the timeless design, the shoes feature hiking boot lace loops with more of a rugged approach, including a trio of earth tone colorways, with a bit of color adding a fresh new look for the California range. All three offerings are set to release in early October 2010.

The godfather of pool skating, Tony Alva re-defined Progression. Alva was the first true rock star in skateboarding and his impact on our culture was deep. This Spring, Vans honors the timeless skateboarder with a new Alva Legend’s Pack that includes an up-dated version of his original signature shoe, the Mid Skool 77 Pro, along with an Era Pro. The shoes were constructed with eco-friendly materials including water-based adhesives, recycled gum rubber and laces and linings made from recycled PET, the material used in plastic bottles. Featuring functional base colors paired with subtle pop color detailing and all the technology you expect from Vans, these limited edition models deliver superior style, comfort, grip and protection. A release is set for February 1st via select Vans retailers.

Having been introduced via a collaboration last summer with Classic Kicks, little has emanated out of the Mid Skool ’77 model as the OG classic makes a return in some simple basics. The taller brother of the Old Skool, the shoe features many of the same traits and toebox characteristics.
