Japanese illustrator Santa Inoue releases a retrospective book documenting a collection of work spanning all the way to his beginnings with the heralded manga series Tokyo Tribes. Since then, Inoue has gone on to enter the realm of fashion and toy design as well as general visual work over various mediums. The 296 book is bound in suede and is a definite pick-up for fans of Santa Inoue’s work. It is available now at the SANTASTIC! store in Shibuya, at Amazon.jp and through select retailers.

Santastic and the Tokyo Tribe cartoon franchise forge ahead with another Medicom Toy team-up. This time around, the Real Action Hero collection featuring authentic replications of human characters is seen here with Minato. The figure includes a full-on miniature outfit with raw denim, over-sized jacket, hoodie and boots to go alongside his mic accessory. The figure is slated for a November, 2009 release.

In a latest toy release from SANTASTIC! founder Santa Inoue, the character “Kai” from his Tokyo Tribe 2 manga series is seen here. The vinyl features a bat wielding Kai in his trademark uniform. The toy was created in conjunction with toy shop Ganking with Kai being the first release amongst an upcoming series. The figure releases on Saturday, December 13th at select S! retailers, the Santastic! flagship store and online at Santa.co.jp.
