As part of Gilt Groupe’s site-wide “Surf’s Up” summer sale launching today, the online flash retailer will offer, in conjunction with Exhibition A, two one-of-a-kind surfboards with images appropriated from original works by artists Sean Landers and Richard Phillips. Sean Landers’ surfboard features the clown from his painting Around the World Alone (The Holy Hermit), while the surfboard by Richard Phillips – a surfer himself – depicts the artist’s painting Der Bodensee. A portion of sales will be donated to The Pablove Foundation in support of pediatric cancer research and treatment. Access the boards here.

Since its inception in 2005, New York-based agency Chandelier Creative has collaborated on a slew of fashion industry projects and gained acclaim due to their fabulously eccentric office design. Helmed by Richard Christiansen, Chandelier’s latest endeavor finds the creative firm teaming up with Saturdays NYC and custom surfboard sculptor Rick Malwitz on this limited edition run of boards. Asymmetrically styled and available in four colorways, the boards are exclusive to a run of 4 and cost $3,500 to purchase. As an added bonus, however, each item also comes with a weekend invitation to the Chandelier Surf Shack in Mountauk – a prime East Coast destination for relaxing and catching some waves. Shawn Stussy, former brainchild behind the clothing brand bearing his namesake, looks to pursue another endeavor: surfboards. Dubbed the ‘Twin Fin,’ the prototype is a hybrid that incorporates modified versions of the egg and Simmons design, both deemed to have certain limitations in their original form as expressed by Stussy. The sleek 6.8″ x 22″ board features the signature Simmons twin fins on the belly coupled with minimal branding. Stay tuned for an official launch at S/Double.

Prior to creating one of the most important brands in the streetwear landscape to date, Shawn Stussy spent his time carving boards and surfing. Revisiting his original love in increasing frequency, he shares a preview of some new boards that bear his S/Double branding as well as appropriate graphical elements.

Brazilian artist Tom Veiga recently worked up a series of surfboards featuring his signature style artwork. Having already seen these works on skate decks, this latest medium fits in quite well with Veiga’s knack for surf and wave graphics. Shawn Stussy left the company that still bears his name long ago, but last year he resurfaced under a new moniker: S/Double. For his new line, his aesthetic still caters to the surfer inside him, but with a more grown-up feel, choosing to steer clear of the familiar graphic logos which have made the Stussy brand a global one. As a tribute to his past (and present) his new S/Double namesake adorns three colourful surfboards located in his Santa Barbara studio.

Involved in countless projects, from skateboarding to surfing and everything in between, Parisian artist Andre recently linked up with Quiksilver on a series of custom surfboards. All feature Andre’s graffiti style incorporated onto 12 different colorful designs. There’s no additional release information available but most likely the set is just a one-off project.

Editor-In-Chief of Transworld Surf, Chris Cote has teamed up with retailer Univ in the creation of a special collaborative surf board. The allover print detailed board comes complete with a four-fin double ender set-up for the ability to ride it both forward and backwards. Look for this board under the feet of some of the world’s top surfers as well as in an upcoming feature in Transworld Surf with the subsequent release of a t-shirt and art project.
